The league
League
The Dhivehi Premier League is the top flight of football in the Maldives, contested each season by ten clubs from Male' and the outer atolls. Title sponsor Dhiraagu has backed the competition since its rebrand, giving the league its blue-and-orange identity and its shattered-globe crest — a nod to the archipelago the game connects.
Format
Ten clubs meet home and away across the season. Matches are played at the National Stadium in Male' and at home venues on the islands, including Gadhdhoo and Dhidhoo, whenever a club's away-day fixture is switched to their own turf. The campaign pauses twice for national-team duty: an international friendly window and the SAFF Championship.
How the table works
Three points for a win, one for a draw. Final standings are decided by points, then goal difference, then goals scored. The champion represents the Maldives in AFC club competition the following season; the lowest-placed club is relegated to the second division.
